The lives of Trade Aid producers are being affected by our treatment of the environment yet they have the lowest environment impact in the world. Most often these products are: handcrafted, organic, made using small scale production, payment of fair prices allow reinvestment into the environment, trading partners are given support to look at the impact of production and products are shipped by sea meaning they have a small carbon footprint. Trade Aid's products have a minimal environmental impact and are a good choice when looking to reduce one's own impact on the environment. These disadvantaged producers and their communities are the ones who are experiencing the largest negative effects of global climate change yet they have some of the lowest impacts in the world on the environment.
Trade Aid's is a not for profit retail organisation that believes in an alternative form of trade, a form of trade helps to enrich, empower and transform disadvantaged producers' lives around the world through income generation that helps to restoring producers' dignity and self reliance. This helps them send, and keep, their children in school, provides adequate housing and access to health care. Our trading structure supports social change and gives women a voice, protects the environment and creates sustainable development that enables producers to invest in their futures, and helps our trading partners keep their traditional crafts and skills alive. Trade Aid's form of trade gives producers hope for the future of them, their families, their communities and their countries.
